
Tuncay Dersinlioğlu is a lens based storyteller lives in Izmir and Hamburg. He was born in Germany in 1982 and returned to Turkey with his family in 1986. He graduated from the Economics Department of Dokuz Eylül University in 2006. In 2010, he found Karanlık Oda. He continues to conduct workshops such as "Project Development Workshop" and "Documentary Photography Workshop" at his studio Karanlık Oda, where he shares his personal experiences. His work has been featured in numerous national and international publications including New York Times, BBC, Whashington Post, Sputnik, Al Jazeera, GEO TR, National Geographic TR, Atlas, Magma also appeared in festivals. Additionally, he has taught photography classes at various institutions including Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Izmir University of Economics, Dokuz Eylül University Continuing Education Center, Izmir Businessmen Association, French Cultural Center, Vestel, Vodafone, Philip Morris, Ülker, Garanti Bank, Egepen, and Finansbank. He continues to produce documentary, editorial, and promotional photographs for national and international publications, agencies, companies and institutions. He works as a contracted photographer for Reuters news agency, and he has been continuing his documentary and commercial photography work since 2004. Available for world wide assignments.
